Two of the biggest things I’ve learned (and still learning) throughout this whole journey is: (1) to “respect the progress of a baby-step" (<adopted from a Kendrick Lamar verse) and (2) to really understand that just because something isn’t produced/presented on/in a large scale that does not equate into it being insignificant.
See, it took me forever to realize that it’s the small (intangible) steps that truly lay the foundation for (tangible) progress/success. So now when someone asks me a question like “how come you only have 3 items in your store” it doesn’t bother me as much because I know that I’m only laying my own foundation.
When I first started The Essential Man, I reached out to so many different brand pitching “innovative” ideas, and most (if not all) declined or simply ignored my offers…but Phil (founder of MS&Co.) was one of the precious few who supported my vision from the very beginning, and he’s continue to do so. Now that it has almost been 2 years since I first launched the TEM site (and 1 year since launching the store), everything has come full-circle…I am pleased to announce that my 1st collaborative project is with MS&Co.- the company who has been supporting the vision since day one.
