Today I met with my sewing contractor and he told me that this amazing jacket that we have been working on will be finished tomorrow!!!

A few years ago I attended a “self-actualization” workshop and it was there where I was first introduced into doing ”dream/inspirational boards”…and I have been doing ever since. Last night I put the finishing touch on my most recent one and I wanted to share it with you.

(Just in case you’re not familiar with the premise of ”dream/inspirational boards”- the board is composed of different words (found in books, magazines, ect.) that I feel represent me along with words that I aspire to be or things I aspire to achieve. Once the board is complete, the whole idea is to hang it up somewhere where it’s very visible, so you are constantly reminded, and ultimately inspired.)

“respect the progress of a baby-step”

Two of the biggest things I’ve learned (and still learning) throughout this whole journey is: (1) to “respect the progress of a baby-step” (<adopted from a Kendrick Lamar verse) and (2) to really understand that just because something isn’t produced/presented on/in a large scale that does not equate into it being insignificant.

See, it took me forever to realize that it’s the small (intangible) steps that truly lay the foundation for (tangible) progress/success. So now when someone asks me a question like “how come you only have 3 items in your store” it doesn’t bother me as much because I know that I’m only laying my own foundation.

Great news!!! The TEM Logo Tees are finally complete. And prior to this brief lunch break I just took, these last few hours have consisted of me ironing each shirt (next investment…a steamer), and packaging them individually. Yeah- I know, i’m a straight intern right about now ahahaha.

Fun Facts: The TEM Logo Teewas designed, made, and printed in the USA and it will be available Monday, April 2nd at 12p (PST).

Literally- a few days ago I didn’t know how to create CAD illustrations from scratch…look at me now. I guess the old adage is true- “anything is possible when you put your mind to it”.

Yesterday I went fabric shopping, and I found the perfect fabric…hopefully I can make something of this by time my trip to Chicago comes around next month.

I’m up trying to break this learning curve of mine, and really master how to produce CAD illustrations from scratch. A few years ago I learned how manipulate already made CAD’s, but I never learned how to make my own from scratch. Here’s my second attempt…this time around I tried to make something a less complicated. Not bad for an amateur.

bitterSWEET Memories

I was looking for old content to share for “#throwbackthursdays” and in the process I came across a lot of bitterSWEET memories.

About 2.5 years ago I launched an art collective by the name of heardemsay™, and in a nutshell, the whole objective of the company was to create a platform for up and coming artists (of all genres). Fortunately Unfortunately the company didn’t quite take off the way I had expected it to- and in hindsight I realize that it simply wasn’t the right time; as prepared as I thought I was then and looking at me now, I know I wouldn’t have lasts if I had experienced success in the beginning…there was so much growing that I needed to do that only failure could help me achieve. To fast forward to today, I can honestly say that I’ve been “through the fire”, and I survived.

Though I am not completely where I desire to be I wouldn’t even be this close if I didn’t keep trying after my first few failed attempts.

The moral of the story is: don’t kill the seed before you watch it grow.

Here’s the first sample!!! I guess it’s obvious on which design I decided to go with after all. These should be available sometime next month. Thanks again for all of your support!
Oh and by the way…they are designed, made, and hand-printed in the USA!

I can always rely on Wasteland or Buffalo Exchange to keep me above water. #thehumblehustle
